New Zealand here I come!
I have been a bit slack with the blog recently due to all my assigments and social commitments. So here is a blog about something other than one of my mates.
I will probably get in trouble for raising the issue but I plan to spend about 8 weeks cycling around NZ at the end of the year. The details follow.
Who? Well me! Adam plans to come across for a week (around new years) and anyone else is welcome if they can handle the k's. If this sounds like your idea of fun let me know!
When? After my last exam. The 22nd November til the middle/end of Janurary.
How many k's? About 6000-7000... not many ;)
WHY? Because I can. Well I hope I can.
The Plan? Fly into Auckland, down the west cape (via the western most point of the north island), across the straight by ferry (or a refreshing swim), down the west coast to the southern most point, up the east, back across, up to the eastern most point of the north island, into Rotarura for a few days mountain biking, back to Auckland. If I have time I will also ride to the north of the north island. If I really get energetic I might ride the western cape of the southern island so i can say that i have riden between the extreme Northern Southern and Eastern points of NZ's main islands (maybe even all 4 of each island). Unfortunately the western most point of the south island doesnt look like a viable option.
Won't I miss Andrea? Not really.... I will be sick of her by then. NOT! Of course I will miss her! I planned this before we started going out so I plan to go anyway. In fact I have been told I HAVE to still go and not let her influence my plans for either my holidays or next year. It is hard when she has had such a dramatic effect on my life but I will try.
So why the sudden decision to blog about this? Well my flight out has just been booked. No backing out now. It is good timing becuase my bike is in getting a service so after I pick it up today I will start a serious training scheme to get into shape.
Any advice on what my training scheme should involve is welcome but will probably be ignored.
Have fun.

I think you should train by riding up and down Mt Coot-tha... backwards...
It's gonna be fun!!
Aww... you're gonna miss seeing Milford Sound, it's so peaceful there and you can go kyaking there too.
I would definitely suggest you hit up Puzzling World in Wanaka, I think it's before you hit the mountains on the west coast. I think it's only $7NZD to go and it's got some of the craziest rooms you'll ever see.
Oh and Queenstown might be nice for you to spend a day in too! You could maybe go horseback riding or hangliding like I did or maybe even bungy jumping.
You'll have to post lots of pictures when you get back. Way more than you've been posting now. :p
